For the year “2024 – Year of the Roots” during the Morre Chestnut Festival, an event celebrating its 50th edition, a cooking workshop will be activated for the demonstration of the preparation of recipes of the past, related to the chestnut harvest (e.g. chestnut soup, desserts with chestnuts, etc.).
The Festival is an event that combines history, gastronomy and traditions of a territory to be discovered.
The Chestnut Festival of Morre tells the story of the Agrarian Communities which, even today, manage the woodland heritage and the chestnut groves from which each family has the right to obtain a part of the harvest.
It also celebrates the work related to the transformation into flours, jams and desserts that can be purchased and tasted within the event.
As well as chestnuts, which are roasted along the streets of the town and distributed free of charge together with the local must.
