The experience
The Rometti Ceramics Museum with its collection conveys the memory of one of Italy’s leading manufacturing companies.
The history of the factory, founded in 1927, is very much linked to the workers who worked there. In fact, the employment of students from the Academy of Fine Arts on Via di Ripetta in Rome made Rometti’s objects and products not only traditional, but innovative and contaminated by the most advanced artistic trends of the time. Thanks to the contribution of these young artists, in the national manufacturing scene Rometti’s products stood out for their originality, distinguishing themselves from the serial production typical of the industry of the time.
The history of Rometti is represented by more than 200 works, from the earliest achievements to the current collections.
Among them you will be able to admire works made with Nero Fratta, an iridescent metallic color distinctive of some works by Rometti, and artifacts from various eras, playing to distinguish the influences of the styles of the time.
After visiting the museum you can design, create and fire your own pottery. We will take you to the still active Rometti factory not far from the museum to create your own unique piece. Even at the entrance to the factory you can admire large furniture ceramics, pieces that famous designers have created on site.
