The Fried Ciaccia Festival has deep roots in the community of Fighille. Born in 1970, this festival has developed over the years into a traditional and highly anticipated event, attracting not only local residents but also visitors from all over the region and beyond
The heart of the festival is the first Sunday of October, a day that marks not only the celebration of the feast of the patron saint of the Parish of San Michele Arcangelo, but also a moment of joy and conviviality for the whole community. The atmosphere is lively and festive, with the streets of the village animated by colorful stalls, traditional music and inviting scents wafting through the air
The festival area is strategically located next to the Parish Church, which is located in the oldest and most evocative part of the town. This location is not accidental, but represents a deep link with the religious and cultural traditions of the community. The festival is not only a moment of joy and celebration, but also an opportunity to strengthen the sense of belonging and sharing among residents. The main dish of this festival is the “ciaccia fritta”, an ancient traditional Umbrian recipe: a type of flat bread, prepared with flour, water, salt and yeast, which is fried until golden and crispy. During the festival, visitors can enjoy fried ciaccia in multiple variations, accompanied by cold cuts, cheeses and other local delicacies. During the festival there are cultural events, folk shows, exhibitions of art and local crafts, which make the atmosphere even richer and more engaging.
