The Municipality of Porano intends to dedicate the Tuscia Vocal Fest, 2024 edition, to the theme of Italian roots in the world, where music will be the protagonist, engaging both local and international Music Bands, Choirs and Folk Groups, with a repertoire primarily circumstantial to the historical period in which the Municipality of Porano saw most of its citizens who decided to emigrate leave. Hard times for our country, but also times in which through song and music the fear of war, misery, violence was exorcised and, above all, accompanied emigrants to new countries with a feeling of hope and remembrance of their homeland, at the same time. For example, the vocal trio “Sorelle Marinetti”, which with the show “Mickey Mouse, Mici and Penguins in Love” and the songs of the Trio Lescano, will tell us about the twenty years that between crisis, immigration and dictatorship led Italy to the Second World War In addition, the Municipality of Porano totally adheres to the idea of strengthening the bond between Italy and the Italian communities abroad and allowing Italian-descendants in the world, in particular the emigrants from the Municipality of Porano, to reconstruct their family history and deepen their knowledge of their culture of origin. This, enhancing the peculiarities of a small municipality like Porano, which insists in the South-West Orvieto Internal Area, characterized by a series of disadvantageous phenomena, such as the phenomenon of depopulation and low growth rates, seeking contacts with the other Municipalities/Unions of Municipalities that will be financed, to establish a network of “Municipalities of the Roots”. In addition to the musical events, moments of enhancement of food and wine and cultural will be organized, on which it is intended to focus for the maximum involvement of Italian communities abroad. The territory of the Municipality of Porano, as already mentioned above, sees an important phenomenon of depopulation. This is a trend that began already after the Second World War, when populations migrated from rural settlements to other states or other Italian industrial cities, to seek their fortune. Porano has also been affected by this phenomenon and therefore there is a strong push to recover the population also through these initiatives of involvement linked to good living, local traditions and quality entertainment, which is the master on the occasion of the Tuscia Vocal Fest.
